Italy Moda sells through a Polish fashion wholesaler. Each colour has its own model number: 202741 is the brown, 202742 the grey. Green, black and beige exist too, but the supplier has no stock of them at the moment, so those options show as unavailable.

The supplier describes a sweater of standard length with long sleeves, its shoulders decorated with rhinestones and zircons. One thing in that text is off: it speaks of a round neckline. Every photo shows a wide V-neck, so that is what we describe.

Who it's for

For you if you live in jeans and sweaters and want one that looks like you made an effort. The stones do that without a print, a logo or a bright colour.

The fit is wide. With a chest of 136 cm it hangs loose on most sizes, so it suits you if you like room in your knitwear. If you prefer a close fit, this is not the one.

Fabric and feel: 95% viscose

The composition is 95% viscose and 5% spandex. The supplier calls the blend pleasant to the touch and comfortable for a whole day. Viscose knits are usually smooth and a bit cool on the skin, with more drape than a chunky sweater.

You can see that drape in the photos: the fabric folds softly at the elbow and hangs straight from the shoulder. The grey is a melange, so it has a slightly mottled look. The camel is even in colour.

Fit and silhouette: wide on purpose

There is one size. The maker's table gives a total length of 61 cm and a chest of 136 cm. That chest number is large, and the photos confirm it: the shoulder seam sits on the upper arm and the body falls away from the waist.

The table does not say whether these are garment or body measurements, but 136 cm can only be the garment. Lay a sweater you like flat, measure across the chest and double it. If your number is far below 136, expect this one to be roomier.

Styling: half tucked, hair up

In the photos the camel is worn with dark wide jeans and the grey with black trousers, the front tucked in loosely. That half tuck gives a wide sweater a waist and is worth copying.

The stones sit on the shoulders, so long hair will hide them. Wear your hair up or behind your shoulders when you want them to show. Skip the necklace. Small earrings and a watch are enough next to this much shine.

Occasions

The supplier suggests the office and more formal meetings as well as everyday wear. We agree with the office part: over tailored trousers it looks neat and the stones stay discreet under indoor light.

It also covers the in-between evenings in December, when a dress is too much and a plain sweater too little. Think drinks after work or a family dinner.

Care: follow the label

The maker's data we receive has no care instructions, so please go by the label sewn into the sweater. We would rather tell you that than guess.

One general habit for knits with stones: turn them inside out before washing, so the stones don't rub against other clothes, and dry them flat.

The wow detail: stones that fade out

The stones are not set in a neat row. They are dense near the neckline and thin out towards the sleeve, like a handful dropped on each shoulder. In the photos they catch the light when the model turns and almost disappear when she stands still. It is party wear you can get away with on a Tuesday.
