A mosquito killer lamp that looks like a small lantern
This mosquito killer lamp works the simple way. A light inside the cage draws mosquitoes and other small flying insects in, and an electric grid behind the bars kills them. There is no spray and no scent.
It is small: the base is 135 x 75 mm and it stands 176 mm high including the hook. You choose yellow, silver or black, and a version that you charge over USB or one that runs plugged in.

The piece: a lantern with a grid inside
From the outside it looks like a camping lantern: a round base with a power button on the front, a cage of vertical bars, and a loop on top to carry it or hang it. When it is on, the tube inside glows purple-blue.
The shell is ABS and PS plastic, according to the supplier. In the box you get the lamp with its hook, a charging cable and a manual. We sell it as "No brand", because the supplier names no maker.
Who it's for
For you if you lie awake to that one high buzz in August, and you would rather not spray anything in the bedroom. It also suits a small home office, a study or a room in a holiday home.
The supplier rates it for indoor spaces up to 20 m², so think bedroom or small living room, not a whole open-plan ground floor.

Materials and build: plastic shell, grid inside
The outer cage and the base are plastic, ABS and PS according to the supplier. Behind the bars sits an electric grid, so keep the lamp away from small children and pets, and switch it off before you clean it.
The supplier does not give the voltage, the battery capacity or how long it runs on one charge. If you need those figures before you buy, ask us and we will check.
Size and power: which version to pick
With a base of 135 x 75 mm and a height of 176 mm including the hook, it fits on a bedside table next to a book and your phone.
Pick "Charge" if you want to move it around: charge it over USB, from a charger, a laptop, a power bank or in the car, as the supplier photos show, then take it to the bedroom or the balcony door. Pick "Plugged In" if it will stand in one spot near a socket every night.
Where to put it
Insects come to the light, so place the lamp away from where you sleep or sit, for example on a sideboard or on the floor near the window, and keep other lights low. Hang it from the loop if a table is in the way.
The black version disappears into a dark corner. The yellow one looks cheerful on a white windowsill, and the silver is the quietest in a light room.
Occasions
Warm summer nights with the window open, a guest room, a holiday home, or an evening with the balcony door open. It is also an easy small gift for someone who complains about mosquitoes every summer.
Care: switch off, then brush
Follow the manual in the box. As a general habit for insect lamps with a grid: switch it off and unplug it, then brush dead insects out of the cage with a small dry brush. Keep it dry and don't rinse it under the tap.
