The supplier states that these boots are made of leather, both in the description and in the material field. There is no composition table with percentages, which is normal for shoes, so we pass the statement on as the maker gives it.

In the photos the upper is smooth with a soft sheen and it creases gently where the foot bends. The heel is covered in the same black. The interior is described as insulated for autumn and winter; the data does not say with what.

Size and fit: go by the insole length

The maker gives one measurement per size, the insole length. It starts at 24 cm in size 36 and grows by half a centimetre per size to 26 cm in size 40.

Stand on a sheet of paper, mark your heel and your longest toe and measure the distance. Pick the size whose insole is a little longer than your foot. An insulated boot has less spare room inside than an unlined one, so if you plan to wear thick socks and you sit between two sizes, the larger one is the safer choice.

Styling: show the ankle or cover it

In the photos the boots are worn with cropped taupe trousers that end just above the shaft. It works because the low V at the front makes the ankle look narrow.

With straight jeans, let the hem fall over the shaft so only the toe and the heel show. With a midi skirt, add black tights and the boot becomes one long dark line from knee to floor. A long coat and a scarf finish it for the walk to work.

Occasions

The supplier calls them elegant and practical for colder days, and that is a fair summary. Wear them to the office, to a dinner, or on a Saturday in town when you want to look dressed without wearing pumps.
