We buy these boots through a fashion wholesaler in Poland. The wholesaler's brand field says Solea. The description text calls the style Sesie and names the brand Gemre. We give you both names as the supplier gives them, because we cannot tell from here which one is printed in the boot.

The description is mostly sales talk. The usable facts are a block heel and an elastic insert that makes the boots easy to put on and take off. The attribute list adds artificial leather for the upper, fabric for the footbed, a heel of 7 cm and a shaft of 13 cm.

In the photos the heel has fine horizontal lines, like a stacked heel, and there is a pull tab at the back of the shaft.

Who they're for

For you if you like chelsea boots and want a pair that can also go to a meeting or a dinner. The pointed toe makes the foot look longer and the outfit a little sharper.

A 7 cm heel is a real heel. The block shape gives you a wide base, and that helps on a long day, but if you usually wear flats, give yourself time to get used to them.

Materials and build: faux leather, fabric footbed

The maker lists artificial leather for the upper and fabric for the footbed. In the photos the black upper is smooth and matte, with a neat seam around the elastic panels.

No lining or insulation is listed. So these are boots for autumn, spring and mild winter days. On cold days, a warm sock under the shaft does the job.

Size and dimensions: insole length per size

The maker's table starts at 24 cm for size 36 and adds half a centimetre per size, up to 26.5 cm for size 41. That is the inside length of the boot.

With a pointed toe, part of that length is the tip, where your toes do not reach. So do not size down because the number looks generous. Measure your foot standing, compare, and if you are between two sizes, the larger one is usually the comfortable choice in a pointed boot.

Styling: let the toe show

In the photos the boots are worn with patterned tights, which is a good hint: they like a skirt or a dress. A knee-length skirt with tights and these boots is an easy office outfit.

The supplier also suggests everyday jeans. Straight or slim jeans that end at the top of the shaft keep the line clean. Under wide trousers only the pointed toe peeks out, and that looks sharp with a long coat.

Occasions

The supplier names a business meeting and a dinner. We agree, and we would add the days in between: the office, a lunch in town, an evening at the theatre. Black boots with a pointed toe rarely look out of place.

Care: no instructions from the maker
