In the photos the hem is a little longer at the back and opens at the side seams.

Fabric and feel: matt, slightly creased

The composition is 95% polyester and 5% spandex. In the photos the fabric is matt and has a light crease to it, the kind that looks intended. The white is a little sheer over the skin in the pictures, so a skin-tone bra is the safe choice under it.

The supplier gives no fabric weight.

Fit and silhouette: loose over the hip

Size M has a bust of 100.1 cm and a length of 69.1 cm. The bust goes up by about five centimetres per size and the length by one. At 68.1 to 72.9 cm the shirt covers the hip on most people.

For the loose look in the photos, pick the size whose bust figure is well above your own measurement. For a neater fit, stay close to it.

Styling: half tucked, open or knotted

The photos show it over jeans shorts with a chunky pendant. Tuck one front corner into your waistband and the shape changes at once. Worn open over a tank top it becomes a light jacket.

White, black and tan are the office colours. Scarlet and fuchsia are for days when you want to be seen.

Occasions

Wear it to work, on holiday, to a lunch, over swimwear on the way back from the beach. It is the shirt you pack first because it goes with everything else in the case.

Care: machine wash cold

The supplier's instruction is machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Wash white on its own and the strong reds and pinks with similar colours.

The wow detail: the turned-up sleeve

The cuff is folded back on itself and sits just above the elbow. It gives the wide sleeve a clean end and makes the shirt look rolled up and ready, as if you pushed your sleeves back yourself.
