Description
A strappy midi dress with a wrap neckline and a skirt that swings
This strappy midi dress from With You has a simple recipe. Thin straps, a deep wrap neckline, a seam under the bust and a wide skirt that moves when you do. The maker calls the length 7/8, and the size table says 110 cm in every size. On the models the hem lands at mid-calf.
It comes in EU sizes 34 to 40 and in a row of plain colours, from black and white to bright pinks, blue and green.

The piece: one cut, many colours
With You is a label sold through a Polish wholesaler, which files this dress under evening dresses. Every colour has its own model number. We read all eight descriptions. They use slightly different words for the same thing: a dress in 7/8 length with straps, a deep wrap neckline, cut under the bust, with a flared bottom.
Two of the descriptions add a long slit in the skirt. In the photos you can see that slit on other colours too, when the model sits down or holds the skirt aside, so we take it as part of the design.
The straps are worth a second look. There are two thin ones on each shoulder, and at the back they run side by side down to the bodice.
Who it's for
For you if you have a summer wedding, a communion or a garden party on the calendar and you want a dress you can dance in. The skirt is made for turning.
The top is open: bare shoulders, bare upper back, a deep V. If you want more cover in a church or at the office, plan a short jacket or a wrap. Sizes stop at 40, with a chest of 100 cm and a waist of 78 cm in that size.
Closer look: what the maker's data and the photos show
- 7/8 length, 110 cm in every size (maker's data and size table)
- Straps, two thin ones per shoulder (maker's data and photos)
- Deep wrap neckline with soft pleats (maker's data and photos)
- Cut under the bust (maker's data)
- Flared skirt, hem at mid-calf on the models (maker's data and photos)
- Slit in the skirt (maker's data for two colours, photos for others)
- Smooth matte fabric (photos)
Three things the maker does not tell us: how the dress closes, whether it is lined, and whether the bodice has cups. Ask us before you order if one of those decides it for you.
Fabric and feel: a cotton blend, with one caveat
For four of the eight colours the maker lists 60% cotton, 35% polyester and 5% spandex. For the other four the composition field is empty. It is the same style from the same label, so the fabric is probably the same, but we can't confirm it from the data and we won't pretend otherwise.
In the photos the fabric is smooth and matte in every colour, with enough body to hold the pleats in the bodice and enough weight for the skirt to hang in deep folds. The spandex adds some stretch around the bust and waist.
Fit and silhouette: fitted top, full skirt
The bodice fits close and the skirt has all the room you want, so the chest and waist decide your size. The maker's table gives a chest of 88 cm and a waist of 66 cm in size 34, and 96 cm and 74 cm in size 38. Each size adds 4 cm to both.
The length is 110 cm in all four sizes. That means the dress sits lower on the leg if you are short and higher if you are tall. The table does not say where the 110 cm is measured from, or whether the numbers are garment or body measurements, so compare with a dress you own.
Size chart (cm)
| Size | Length | Chest | Waist |
|---|---|---|---|
| 34 | 110 | 88 | 66 |
| 36 | 110 | 92 | 70 |
| 38 | 110 | 96 | 74 |
| 40 | 110 | 100 | 78 |
Source: the maker's size table, the same for all colours. It does not say whether these are garment or body measurements, so compare them with a dress that fits you.
Styling: bare ankles and a small bag
In nearly every photo the model wears heeled sandals with thin straps, in nude, white or silver tones. It works because a mid-calf skirt needs a light shoe. A heavy boot would cut the leg in two.
For a wedding, add a small clutch and earrings and leave the neck bare, since the wrap neckline is decoration enough. For a cooler evening a cropped blazer keeps the waist visible. The black and the dark colours lean towards dinner. The pinks and the white ask for daylight.
Occasions
The maker calls it a dress for many occasions, and for once that is fair. As a guest at a wedding it is a safe choice in any colour except white. It also works for a graduation, an anniversary dinner or a summer evening out.
It stops at mid-calf, so it is no gown for a black-tie gala. For that, look at floor-length styles.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so the label sewn into the dress decides. We prefer telling you that over guessing.
A full skirt creases where you sit on it. Hang the dress up as soon as you get home and steam the skirt from the inside before the next party.
The wow detail: the double straps
One strap per shoulder would have done the job. With You used two. From the front they look like a delicate doubled line, and at the back they draw four thin stripes over bare skin. It is a small extra that makes the back of the dress as nice to look at as the front.
