A fuchsia tulle dress with sleeves that slip off the shoulder
This fuchsia tulle dress is the short, swishy kind: a draped top, a skirt that stands out from the waist and soft tulle sleeves that hang off the shoulder. Bicotone calls the style Spanish, and you can see why in the way the sleeves fall.
The maker's size table gives a length of 88 cm in size 34 and 91 cm in size 40. On the model the hem sits above the knee. One note on colour: the maker lists it as violet, and in our photos it is a bright fuchsia pink. We describe what the photos show.

The piece: model 196090 by Bicotone
Model 196090 comes from Bicotone, a label that sells its occasion dresses through a Polish fashion wholesaler. The supplier files it under evening dresses. It is a short dress though, so read "evening" as "party" and you have the right picture.
The supplier's description is brief: tulle sleeves that fall from the shoulder, a layered and flared bottom, an attached belt and a covered zip. The photos fill in the rest. Thin straps carry the dress, so the sleeves are there for the look and the straps do the holding.
The first four photos show the same dress in black. We keep them because they show the cut clearly, but black is not for sale on this page.
Who it's for
For you if you want to be seen on the dance floor and like a colour that does half the work. Fuchsia is not shy, and neither is a skirt with this much volume.
It also suits you if you like bare shoulders but want something on your upper arms. The sizes run from 34 to 40, with a waist of 66 cm in 34 and 78 cm in 40. The waist is the part that has to fit, so check the table before you order.

The maker's data does not say whether the dress is lined. The skirt is not see-through in the photos, but we can't tell you more than that.
Fabric and feel: tulle layers, 70% viscose
The maker gives the composition as 70% viscose and 30% polyester. It lists one composition for the whole dress and does not split it into layers, so we can't tell you which layer is which fibre.
What you see is tulle, a fine open net. On the bodice it is gathered into small pleats, on the skirt it lies in layers over each other. That layering is what gives the skirt its shape: it holds itself away from the legs and moves when you turn. The belt has a soft shine in the photos, a little glossier than the tulle around it.
Fit and silhouette: fitted waist, full skirt
The shape is fitted on top and wide below. The belt marks the waist and the skirt flares out from there, so the hips have all the room they want. The table below comes straight from the maker. Size 36 has a chest of 86 cm and a waist of 70 cm; size 40 has 94 and 78 cm.
The length barely changes: 88 cm in 34, one centimetre more with each size up. The table does not say whether these are garment or body measurements. Measure a fitted dress you own across the chest and the waist, double both numbers and compare. If you are between sizes, let the waist decide.

Styling: keep the rest quiet
In the photos the fuchsia dress is worn with pumps in the same pink and nothing around the neck. That works. The colour and the sleeves are busy enough, and the bare neckline is part of the design.
If matching shoes feel like too much pink, go for nude or metallic sandals with a thin strap. Small earrings are plenty. For the walk home, a cropped jacket that ends at the waist keeps the skirt free; a long coat will flatten the tulle.
Occasions
This is a party dress. Wear it to a birthday you want to remember, to a wedding party as a guest, to a graduation ball or on New Year's Eve. It is made for standing, dancing and photos.

One habit helps with any tulle: keep it away from rings, bracelets and open zips, because the net catches on them. Hang the dress with room around the skirt so the layers keep their volume.
The wow detail: sleeves that are only there for show
Look at the shoulders. The thin straps hold the dress up, and the tulle sleeves sit lower, around the upper arm, in loose folds. You get the look of an off-shoulder dress without having to pull anything back into place all night. From the back the bow of the belt sits right under the low V, which is a nice thing to leave a room with.
