A long-sleeve dress you shape with a cord
This long-sleeve dress by Figl is a simple tube of soft knit until you pull the cord. A tunnel at the waist holds two ties, and you decide how much the top blouses over them.
The maker gives 95% viscose and 5% spandex and a length of 104 cm in every size. It comes in green, brown, black and two greys, in sizes S to XL.

The piece: models 203143 to 203147 by Figl
Figl is the maker's label. Its description fits on one line: a dress with long sleeves and a half-round neckline, with a tunnel and ties at the waist. The five colours share that text and the same size table.
Two corrections to the old name of this page. It called the dress navy blue, and there is no navy version. The colours are green, brown, black and two greys. In the photos the green is a khaki green and the brown, which our menu calls "Taupe", is a taupe with a hint of mauve. "Grey 2" is the lighter grey.
Who it's for
For you if you want a dress that feels like a long-sleeve T-shirt and looks a step neater. Nothing is tight until you tie the cord, and even then you set how close it sits.
It suits days with a lot of sitting, bending and walking: the knit stretches, the sleeves are long and you can wear trainers with it, as the model does.

No zip or buttons are mentioned or visible. The dress pulls on over the head.
Fabric and feel: viscose knit with 5% spandex
The composition is 95% viscose and 5% spandex. In the photos it is a smooth, matte knit that hangs softly from the shoulders and folds easily where the cord gathers it.
The lightest grey shows the most texture and may also show the most of what is underneath; the maker says nothing about opacity. We have no fabric weight to add.
Fit and silhouette: 104 cm, shortened by the blouse
The table says 104 cm for all four sizes, and yet the hem sits above the model's knee. The reason is the cord: when you pull the top up and let it blouse over the waist, the skirt rises with it. Wear it smooth and the dress is longer.
Widths go up by 4 cm per size. Size M has a chest of 98 cm, a waist of 88 cm and hips of 92 cm. The hips are the narrowest part of the pattern, so pick your size there.

Styling: trainers, boots or a long cardigan
The model wears every colour with printed trainers and nothing else, and that is how most of us will wear it too. In autumn, swap them for ankle boots and add tights in the same tone as the dress.
A long open cardigan or a trench over it keeps the waist cord in view. You can also tie the cord at the side instead of the front for a slightly dressier line.
Occasions
The maker files it under day dresses, and that is where it belongs: work in a relaxed office, a day out, travelling, weekends. The black one can stretch to a casual dinner with boots and earrings.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the dress. Before washing, tie the two cord ends together loosely so neither slips back into the tunnel.
The wow detail: the cord
One cord changes the dress three ways. Tied tight with the top pulled up, it looks like a top and skirt. Tied loosely, it is a relaxed shift with a hint of waist. Left untied, the ends hang and the dress falls straight.
