The maker mentions no zip, and the photos show none. A dress this stretchy usually pulls on over the head, but ask us if you want that confirmed.

Fabric and feel: 98% cotton

The composition is 98% cotton and 2% spandex. That is a high share of cotton for a dress this close to the body. In the photos the fabric has a fine vertical rib, which is where most of the stretch comes from; the spandex helps it spring back.

The grey is a melange, with lighter and darker threads mixed. The maker gives no fabric weight. From the photos it looks like a medium knit that skims the body without showing every seam underneath.

Fit and silhouette: a column to the knee

The size table gives the same number for chest and hips: 76 cm in S, 80 cm in M, 84 cm in L and 88 cm in XL. So the dress is a straight tube when it lies flat, and the rib opens to fit your shape. The numbers are small, which is why we read them as unstretched.

The length is 100 cm in all four sizes. If you are taller than the model, the hem will sit above your knee. Take your usual size; go one up if you want the rib to open less over the hips.

Styling: boots, a belt, a long coat

The photos show the dress with heels and bare legs. In real life, in the season it is made for, you will wear it with tights. Black opaque tights and knee boots make the black version one long line.

The grey looks good with a wide belt at the waist and white trainers. Both colours sit well under a long coat or an oversized blazer, because the dress itself adds no bulk. A long pendant over the collar breaks up the front.

Occasions

The supplier calls it a dress for every day. Wear it to the office, to dinner with friends or on a city trip in the colder months. The black one, with heels and earrings, goes to a party without trouble.

Care: follow the label

The maker's data has no care instructions, so follow the label sewn into the dress.

For ribbed cotton in general: wash inside out and dry the dress flat, so the weight of the wet fabric doesn't pull it longer.
