This electric paw washer is a cup with soft silicone bristles inside that turn at the push of a button. You add water, put a paw in, and the bristles rub the mud off while you hold your dog.

It charges by USB and works without a cord. You choose blue or white.

In the photos the washer is a tall cup on a wider base. The base has a single power button. Around the opening there is a soft-looking rim, and inside, rows of bristles point from the wall towards the middle, so they touch the paw from all sides.

The supplier describes the rotation as automatic and the bristles as soft silicone. We sell it without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker.

Who it's for

For you if every autumn walk ends with paw prints on the hallway floor. Keeping it by the front door, as the supplier suggests, means you can clean four paws before your dog reaches the sofa.

One caution. The supplier says it is for all cats and dogs but gives no size for the opening. The photos show it next to a cat and a small bulldog. If you have a large dog, ask us for the diameter first.

Materials and build: silicone bristles

The one material the supplier names is the silicone of the bristles. Silicone bristles bend easily, which is why they are used for paws. The supplier does not say what the cup and base are made of.

Because this is a rechargeable device that you fill with water, keep the base and the charging port dry when you rinse it. The supplier gives no water-resistance rating.

Size: ask for the diameter

The supplier calls it compact and gives no measurements. For a paw washer the opening is the number that matters, and we don't have it. Send us a message before you order and we will ask the supplier, so you know whether your dog's paw fits.

How to use it

Fill the cup partly with lukewarm water. Put one paw in, press the button and let the bristles turn for a few seconds. Take the paw out, dry it with a towel and move on to the next one. Change the water when it gets dirty.

Let your dog sniff the washer and hear it run before the first use. Some dogs need a few tries and a treat to get used to the sound.

Occasions

Rainy autumn walks and muddy fields are what it is made for. It also helps after a day at the beach, when sand sticks between the toes.

Care

The supplier calls it easy to clean and gives no further instructions. As general practice, pour out the dirty water after each use, rinse the cup and the bristles with clean water and let it dry upside down. Keep the charging port dry.

The wow detail: the bristles do the scrubbing

With a manual paw cup you twist the cup yourself, one hand on the dog and one on the cup. Here the bristles turn on their own, so your other hand is free to hold the paw steady. That is the whole idea, and it is a good one.
