A long puff-sleeve dress in one plain colour
No print, no trim. This dress by Awama relies on its shape: a fitted top, a round neckline, short full sleeves and a skirt that widens all the way down. On the model it ends a little above the ankle.
The maker's table gives a length of 126 cm in S and 129 cm in XL. You can choose from green, blue, black and beige, and the fabric is 60% polyester, 35% viscose and 5% spandex.

The piece: four colours, one cut
Awama lists this dress under four model numbers, 212234 to 212237, one for each colour. The descriptions and the size tables are the same, so what you read here goes for all four.
The supplier describes a fitted top with a deep neckline, a flared bottom, short gathered sleeves that end in an elastic band, a side slit and a hidden zipper. The photos confirm most of that. The neckline is a rounded scoop, deep enough to show the collarbones. The zip runs down the centre of the back. The slit is hard to spot in the pictures, so expect it to be modest.
One correction to how this dress was listed before: it has sleeves and no floral print. All four colours are plain.
Who it's for
For you if you want a long dress with your upper arms covered and you find long sleeves too warm. The sleeve ends above the elbow and has enough volume to balance the wide skirt.
It also suits you if prints are not your thing. A plain dress in a strong colour is easier to wear again, because people remember the print before they remember the cut.

The maker does not mention a lining or pockets, and we cannot see either in the photos.
Fabric and feel: polyester and viscose with 5% spandex
The composition is 60% polyester, 35% viscose and 5% spandex. In the photos the fabric is matte and smooth and hangs in clean lines, without clinging to the legs. The spandex gives the fitted top some stretch.
The maker gives no fabric weight and does not say whether the dress is lined. If you need to know before ordering, ask us and we will check with the supplier.
Fit and silhouette: fitted to the waist, wide from there
The top is the part that has to fit. Size M has a chest of 92 cm and a waist of 72 cm; size XL has 104 and 84 cm. The hips are generous, 98 cm in S and 114 cm in XL, because the skirt flares from the waist seam.
The length only changes by a centimetre per size, from 126 to 129 cm. So if you are shorter than the model, the hem will sit lower on you, closer to the ankle or over it. Check the length against a dress you own before you choose.

Styling: let the colour lead
In the photos the green, blue and black dresses are worn with black block-heel sandals and the beige one with nude pumps. Both work because the hem leaves the ankle free.
For the office, add a slim belt at the waist seam and flat loafers. The blue one looks sharp with white trainers on a Saturday. In colder months a cropped cardigan that stops at the waist keeps the shape of the dress visible, and the full sleeves fit under it better than under a narrow blazer.
Occasions
The supplier files it under day dresses and calls it a choice for many occasions. That is vague, so here is ours. The black and the green are right for a work presentation or a dinner. The beige suits a daytime wedding as a guest, and the blue is the one for a birthday lunch in spring.

A general habit with viscose blends: hang the dress up straight after washing and close the zip first, so the skirt panels dry in shape.

The sleeve is where this dress has its fun. It is gathered at the shoulder and again at the elastic band, so it stands away from the arm like a small lantern. Seen from the side it gives the whole dress its outline: round at the top, narrow at the waist, wide at the hem.
