This houndstooth dress from Lakerta has a straight cut, long sleeves and a round neckline. It closes with a zip and comes with a tie belt in the same checked fabric.
There are two versions: the classic black and white check, and a black check on a camel brown ground. The fabric is 85% cotton with 15% spandex. Sizes are M and L.

The piece: a classic check, kept simple
The supplier gives four short sentences: a straight cut dress with long sleeves and a round neckline, zippered, complete with a tie belt, made of what the text calls "peplite fabric". We read that as pepita, the small houndstooth check you see in the photos.
The photos add a few things. The sleeves are full and gathered into a narrow cuff. The skirt has a slit at the side and ends below the knee on the model. The belt is knotted at the waist and its ends hang down.
Who it's for
For you if you want a dress for the office that needs nothing added. The check does the work a necklace would do, and the long sleeves and high neck mean you are covered for meetings.
Only M and L are made. M has a chest of 86 cm and a waist of 78 to 86 cm; L has 91 cm and 84 to 90 cm.

Fabric and feel: cotton with a lot of stretch
The composition is 85% cotton and 15% spandex. Fifteen per cent is a lot of stretch, so expect a fabric that gives when you sit and springs back.
In the photos it has some body and hangs straight. Whether the check is woven or printed is not stated.
Fit: two sizes, no length given
The maker's table lists a chest of 86 cm for M and 91 cm for L, with a waist of 78 to 86 cm and 84 to 90 cm. The waist range tells you the cut is straight and the belt does the shaping.
There is no length in the table. On the model the hem is below the knee. If length matters to you, ask us and we will request it from the supplier.

Styling: black shoes, plain coat
The model wears black pointed pumps, and black is the easy answer with both checks. Knee-high boots under the slit work in winter. With the brown version, cognac or camel accessories pick up the ground colour.
Keep the coat plain. A check dress under a checked coat is a lot. A red lip or a red bag against the black and white is a classic for a reason.
Occasions
The supplier calls it a proposal for many occasions. We think first of work, then of a lunch, a theatre evening or Christmas with the in-laws. It is covered, neat and easy to wear for a whole day.

The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the dress.
Take the belt off and wash it in a laundry bag, so it does not wrap around other clothes.
