A blazer dress solves the morning. You put on one piece and you look like you thought about it. This one by Moe has a lapel collar, long sleeves and a belt in the same fabric, and it closes with buttons hidden behind the front edge.
It is short. The maker gives a length of 87 cm in S and 93 cm in XXL, and on the model the hem sits at mid-thigh. There are five colours, from navy and grey to a bright fuchsia.

The piece: a jacket dress, in the maker's words
The supplier's description is short and clear: a jacket dress with collar and long sleeves, fastened with covered buttons, unlined, complete with a belt made of the same material. Five model numbers, 184758 to 184762, stand for the five colours. They share one size table.
The photos add the rest. The shoulders are structured, there are flap pockets at the hips and the belt closes with a D-ring. On the grey dress the model has simply tied it. An earlier version of this page called the dress double-breasted. It has one concealed row of buttons, so we dropped that.
Who it's for
For you if you like tailoring and want to skip the trousers. It gives you the shoulders and lapels of a blazer with the ease of a dress.
Be honest with yourself about the length. At 87 to 93 cm this is a mini. If you are tall, plan on tights or shorts underneath, or wear it open over trousers as a long jacket.

The maker does not say whether the pockets open or are decorative flaps.
Fabric and feel: suiting with some stretch
The composition is 65% polyester, 30% viscose and 5% spandex. That is a common blend for suiting: the viscose softens the hand and the spandex lets you move your arms. In the photos the fabric is smooth and matte and holds the lapels flat.
The dress is unlined, the maker says. That makes it lighter and cooler than a lined blazer, and it means the inside seams lie against your skin or your tights.
Fit and silhouette: roomy cut, pulled in by the belt
The numbers in the table are generous. Size S has a chest of 92 cm, a waist of 84 cm and hips of 106 cm. Each size up adds 5 cm all round and 1.5 cm in length. So the cut itself is straight and roomy, and the belt creates the waist.
If you want the sharp look from the photos, your usual size will do. For an oversized look, tie the belt loosely or leave it off.

Styling: bare legs, tights or trousers
The photos show it the classic way, with bare legs and nude heels. That works for a dinner or a party.
For the office, add opaque tights and loafers or knee-high boots. The fuchsia one is loud enough to wear with nothing but small earrings. The grey and navy versions can take a small scarf at the neck or a chunky necklace inside the lapels. And worn open over straight trousers and a T-shirt, it becomes a long blazer.
Occasions
The supplier lists it as a day dress. In navy or grey it suits a job interview, a presentation or a graduation. In red or fuchsia it moves to birthdays, drinks and December parties.

A general habit for tailored pieces: hang it on a shaped hanger after wearing, so the shoulders keep their line.

Covered buttons change the whole front. With no row of buttons to break the line, the lapels run straight into the belt and the colour stays uninterrupted from collar to hem. On the fuchsia dress that is a lot of pink, in a good way.
