An A-line sweatshirt dress with long sleeves
This sweatshirt dress by Tessita has the ease of a jumper and the shape of a dress. It widens from the shoulders into an A-line and ends above the knee. The sleeves are long, the neck is high and round, and a wide band finishes the hem.
The knit is 70% cotton and 30% polyester. There are nine colours and three double sizes, from S/M to 2XL/3XL.

The piece: nine colours, one pattern
Tessita describes a knitted dress with a trapezoidal cut that ends before the knee, and suggests it for autumn. The details it lists are a stand-up neckline, darts at the bust, a hem at the edge of the sleeves and a decorative pleat at the bottom. The fabric is a sweatshirt knit.
In the photos that decorative finish at the bottom is a wide band, set on with a seam you can see. It gives the hem some weight, so the A-line hangs in a clean bell shape.
A word on colours. The supplier calls two different shades beige. In the photos the one we sell as taupe is a mocha brown, and beige 2 is a cream beige. Green is a sage, blue a light blue, pink a light pink, and red a deep burgundy.
Who it's for
For you if you want to wear a dress on a cold morning and still feel like you are in a sweatshirt. Nothing sits tight at the waist or the hips, because the dress only touches the shoulders and the bust.
The size range is wide. The largest size, 2XL/3XL, has a chest of 114 cm and hips of 132 cm in the table.

The maker does not mention pockets or a closure, and we see neither in the photos.

The fabric is 70% cotton and 30% polyester. The supplier calls it a sweatshirt knit that feels pleasant and brings a relaxed note to a neat shape.
In the photos the knit has body. It stands away from the legs and does not cling, and the hem band holds its line. The supplier gives no fabric weight.
Fit and silhouette: narrow at the top, wide at the hem
The maker's table shows the A-line in numbers. In S/M the chest is 98 cm, the waist 106 cm and the hips 116 cm. In L/XL those are 106, 114 and 124 cm, and in 2XL/3XL 114, 122 and 132 cm. The length is 89, 91 and 93 cm.
Choose by your chest. Everything below it has room. The table does not say whether these are garment or body measurements. Since the waist figure is larger than the chest, we read them as the measurements of the dress.

Styling: heels or trainers, both work
Most photos show the dress with fine strappy heels and bare legs. The burgundy one is worn with white trainers, and that is how we would wear it most days.
In autumn, add tights in the colour of the dress or in black, and ankle boots. A short jacket works better than a long one, because the A-line needs space to swing.
When to wear it
The supplier suggests the autumn season. It is a dress for the office on a casual day, for a birthday at home, for a weekend away and for working at the kitchen table.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the dress.
A general habit for cotton sweat fabric: wash it inside out and reshape the hem band while the dress is still damp.
The wow detail: the band at the hem
A plain A-line dress can look like a nightshirt. The wide band at the hem is what stops that here. It is cut from the same fabric and adds a clear horizontal line, a bit like the rib on a sweatshirt, moved down to the knee.
