This cocktail dress by Bicotone is fitted, short and full of small ideas. The front crosses over into a V. The sleeves are split, so your shoulders and upper arms show when you move. Pleats gather at one side of the waist, and the skirt opens in a slit.
It closes with a concealed zip. The fabric is 93% polyester with 7% spandex. There are six colours and five sizes, from 34 to 42.

The piece: six colours, six model numbers
Bicotone lists every colour as its own model, from 208524 to 208529, with one description: a fitted dress with a wrap neckline, split sleeves, asymmetrical pleats, a front slit and a concealed zip.
Each dress is a single colour. In the photos you see black, white, a bright fuchsia, a light blue, a dusty pink and a pale peach. The supplier's own names are less precise. It calls the white and the peach both beige and the fuchsia violet, so go by the photos.
The back is plain, with a V-shaped neckline that mirrors the front.
Who it's for
For you if you are a wedding guest this year and want a dress that is festive without being long. It also works for a date or a dinner, and in black or white for a formal reception.
The cut is close and the neckline is a real V, so it suits a woman who likes to show her waist. The pleats at the side give a little room over the stomach.

Fabric and feel: smooth with 7% spandex
The dress is 93% polyester and 7% spandex. In the photos the fabric is matte and smooth, with enough body to hold the pleats and the shape of the sleeves. The spandex gives stretch, which a fitted dress with a wrap front needs.
The supplier does not mention a lining. With the white and the peach we would wear skin-tone underwear to be safe.
Fit and silhouette: fitted, above the knee
The maker's table is below. Size 36 has a chest of 90 cm and a waist of 70 cm, size 40 a chest of 98 cm and a waist of 78 cm. The length is 95 cm in sizes 34 and 36, 96 cm in 38 and 40, and 98 cm in 42.
There is no hip measurement. The skirt is narrow, so if your hips are clearly wider than your chest, we would size up and let the wrap front take care of the rest. On the model the hem ends above the knee.

Styling: bare arms need little jewellery
In the photos the model wears pointed pumps or fine sandals in black or nude, a small bag on a chain and a thin necklace. Bracelets work well, because the open sleeves keep drawing the eye to the arms.
The fuchsia and the light blue are strong enough on their own, so keep shoes neutral. With the black dress you can do the opposite and add a red lip or metallic heels.
Occasions
The supplier names weddings, dates and official meetings. We would add a christening, a graduation party and a summer reception. A note for weddings: the white version is one to leave to the bride.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the dress.
As a general habit, close the zip before washing and hang the dress to dry, so the pleats at the waist keep their line.
The wow detail: the sleeve that opens
From the front the sleeve looks like a normal elbow-length sleeve. Lift your arm and it parts along the top, from the shoulder down, and closes again at the hem. You get a covered arm in a photo and a bare shoulder on the dance floor.
