This backless halter dress by Figl closes around the neck, leaves the back bare and ends in a short pleated skirt that holds a bell shape. The front crosses over and fastens with a button at the waist.
It is a last-pieces item. The supplier still has pink and white, each in one size when we wrote this.

The piece: Figl's foam cocktail dress
Figl describes the dress in two lines: an elegant backless foam dress, fitted at the neck, with an asymmetrical buttoned front and a counter-fold skirt. The supplier files it under cocktail dresses.
Foam is the maker's word for the fabric. In the photos it is a thick, smooth knit with enough spring to keep the skirt away from the legs without a petticoat. The counter folds are deep box pleats that start at the waist seam.
The top is cut like a waistcoat without a back. Two panels cross into a deep V and meet at one button, and a band holds them around the neck.
Who it's for
For you if you want a party dress with a clear shape and are happy to show your back and legs. It is short, at 83 to 84.5 cm from the top, and the back is open to the waist.
Because only single sizes are left, it is for you if you wear the size on the buttons. Pink was in XL and white in M at the supplier when this page was written.

The maker does not say how the neck band closes or whether the dress is lined.
Fabric and feel: a thick polyester knit
The composition is 100% polyester. What the maker calls foam looks, in the photos, like the smooth and slightly spongy knit often sold as scuba. It is matte, it does not crease in the pictures and it keeps a rounded edge at the hem.
A fabric like this gives shape on its own. That is why the skirt stands out and the top lies flat without any visible seams across the bust.
Fit and silhouette: fitted top, bell skirt
Go by chest and waist. The maker's table gives a chest of 84 cm and a waist of 72 cm in M, and 92 and 80 cm in XL. The hip figures, 124 cm in M and 132 cm in XL, describe the width of the pleated skirt, so your hips will always have room.
The length is 83.5 cm in M and 84.5 cm in XL. With a halter and a bare back you cannot wear a regular bra. Plan for a stick-on or a backless one, or go without.

Styling: keep it simple
In the photos the dress is worn with strappy heeled sandals and hair tied back, which keeps the back and the neckline clear. That is all it needs.
For a cooler evening, a short blazer over the shoulders works, as long as it ends above the pleats. Small earrings suit the V neckline more than a necklace does, because the halter band already frames the neck.
Occasions
The supplier files it under cocktail dresses, and that is where it belongs: a summer party, a birthday, a hen night, a graduation ball. In white it is also an option for a civil wedding or the evening after.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so follow the sewn-in label. Hang the dress on a hanger with clips at the waist, so the halter band does not stretch under the weight of the skirt.
The wow detail: front and back are two different dresses
From the front you see a small tailored waistcoat on a full skirt. Then you turn around and there is only a neck band and a bare back above the pleats. The photos show both views for every colour, and they are worth comparing before you decide.
