Scarlett: a wrap dress with a belt and a full midi skirt
Scarlett is Numoco's wrap dress for occasions. The neckline crosses over, small cap sleeves cover the shoulder, a belt ties at the waist and the skirt flares out to the knee.
The maker lists a length of 99 cm in S and 104 cm in XXL. The fabric is 95% polyester with 5% elastane, and the dress comes in eight colours, from navy blue to fuchsia.

The piece: Scarlett by Numoco
Numoco is a Polish dress label and the supplier states that Scarlett is produced in Poland. The description is the same idea in every colour: a flared dress with an envelope neckline and a belt, in a fabric that is pleasant to the touch.
Two colours differ in fabric. The maker calls the fuchsia a brocade fabric and says the black has a subtle brocade shimmer; in the photos both catch the light more than the others. The light blue is listed as 100% polyester.
The old name of this page mentioned flowers and ruffled sleeves. Scarlett has neither. It is plain, and the sleeves are smooth cap sleeves. Also good to know: the first nine photos show pastel pink, red and dark green dresses that are not in our colour menu. In that menu "blue" is the sea blue, "blue 2" the light blue, "Peach" the beige, "pink 2" the powder pink, "Magenta" the fuchsia and "green 2" the green.
Who it's for
For you if you get invited to christenings, weddings and communions and want one cut you can trust. A crossed neckline, a marked waist and a skirt that covers the knee work at a church and at a dinner.
The size range runs to XXL, with a chest of 104 cm and a waist of 86 cm in the maker's table.

Fabric and feel: polyester with 5% elastane
For most colours the maker gives 95% polyester and 5% elastane and calls the fabric pleasant to the touch. In the photos it has weight: the skirt hangs in clean, deep folds and holds its shape when the model lifts the hem.
The fuchsia and the black have a soft shimmer, which fits the maker's word brocade. The light blue is 100% polyester according to the size table, so expect a little less stretch there.
Fit and silhouette: fitted waist, wide skirt
Chest and waist decide the size; the skirt is wide enough for any hip. Size M has a chest of 88 cm and a waist of 70 cm. Size XL has 102 and 82 cm. Note the jump between L and XL: the chest goes from 94 to 102 cm.
The length grows by a centimetre per size from 99 cm, and XXL is 104 cm. The wrap neckline is fixed by the cut, so check the chest measurement carefully if you want it to lie flat.

Styling: move the bow
The photos show the belt tied two ways. In front, the bow becomes the centre of the dress. At the back, the front stays clean and you can add a brooch or a long necklace into the V.
Nude or metallic heels suit every colour. With navy blue or black, a coloured clutch lifts the look. A short bolero or a cropped blazer fits over the cap sleeves; a long cardigan would hide the waist.
Occasions
The supplier names christenings, weddings, communions and evening outings, and for the fuchsia also New Year's Eve. We would add graduations and anniversaries. Powder pink, beige and light blue are daytime colours. Navy blue, green and black carry into the evening.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the dress. Take the belt off and keep it with the dress when you wash or store it.
The wow detail: the cap sleeves
The sleeves are short and cut wide, so they stand a little away from the arm like small wings. They broaden the shoulder line just enough to make the tied waist look narrower. From the back they frame the bow.
