Fabric and feel: chunky, in polyester

The supplier lists polyester, which we give as 100% polyester. The knit is thick and open, so the vest has body without being heavy. Polyester keeps its colour well and dries faster than many knit yarns.

Because the stitches are big, you will see some of the shirt underneath through the knit, especially in the light colours.

Fit and silhouette: short and boxy

Length runs from 42 cm in S to 44.5 cm in L, so the vest ends around the waist. Chest is 98, 102 or 108 cm, measured flat by the supplier, with 2-3 cm difference allowed.

The shape is straight and a bit boxy, which works over a shirt. Wear it buttoned for a neat look, or open for a looser one.

Styling: over a crisp shirt

The supplier styled the red one over a white shirt with the collar out and light trousers, and with jeans and a belt. Both are easy. A striped shirt underneath works too, and in winter a thin roll-neck.

Pick a neutral like milky white or brown if you want it to go with everything, or red or emerald green if you want the vest to be the point.

Occasions

Wear it to the office over a shirt, on a weekend in the city, or to a casual lunch. It is a good layer for autumn and spring, when a coat feels too warm indoors.

Care: treat it like a knit

The supplier gives no care instructions, so follow the label sewn into the vest. As general practice for chunky knits: button it before washing, wash cool and gently, and dry it flat so it keeps its shape. Hanging a wet knit stretches it.
