A knit twinset: a roomy cardigan over a cable top
This knit twinset from Badu is two pieces in the same yarn and colour. The cardigan is open, ribbed and wide, with full sleeves that gather into long cuffs. Under it goes a sleeveless top knitted in cables and diamonds.
The yarn is 70% acrylic and 30% wool. The set comes in one size and in four colours: dark grey, black, orange and light grey.

The piece: a set, in four colours
Our shop title used to speak of a cardigan only. The maker's description is about a set: a top as the base and a cardigan with puff sleeves over it. The photos show both pieces in every colour, so that is what we describe here.
Two small corrections to the maker's text. It calls the top strapless, but in the photos it has wide shoulder straps and a square neckline. And it lists two greys under the same name: model 187755 is the dark grey and model 189322 the light grey, which our buttons call "grey" and "grey 2".
Who it's for
For you if you like the idea of a twinset and find the classic version too prim. This one is relaxed: the cardigan is oversized and the top is short and textured.
It is also practical in an office where the heating has a mind of its own. Cardigan on, cardigan off, and you still look dressed.

Fabric and feel: acrylic with 30% wool
The maker gives the composition as 70% acrylic and 30% wool. Wool brings warmth and a bit of spring to a yarn, and acrylic keeps it light. The maker says the cardigan adds warmth on colder days, which is what you would expect from this blend.
If your skin reacts to wool, note that the top is worn directly on the body. The knit looks medium-thick in the photos: the rib of the cardigan stands up clearly and the cables on the top are raised.
Fit and silhouette: one size, two shapes
The maker's table gives one size with two numbers per measurement: a length of 55 and 57 cm and a chest of 90 and 150 cm. The table does not say which is which. A chest of 150 cm can only be the wide cardigan, so we read 55 and 90 cm as the top.
That matches the photos. The top sits close and ends at the waistband. The cardigan is very roomy, with dropped shoulders and sleeves that balloon before the cuff. One size will fit a range of bodies in the cardigan; the top is the piece to check against your own chest measurement.

Styling: together, then apart
The photos show the set with black trousers, with a houndstooth mini skirt and with khaki cargo trousers. Tone on tone on top, something plain or patterned below.
Apart, the cardigan goes over a shirt dress or a white T-shirt and jeans. The top on its own works under a blazer in spring. Let the cardigan slip off one shoulder, as in the orange photos, and the set looks less tidy in a good way.
Occasions
The maker suggests work and everyday activities. It is a good autumn-to-spring outfit for the office, a lunch, a train journey, a weekend away when you do not know how warm the rooms will be.
Care: follow the labels
The maker's data has no care instructions, so follow the labels sewn into both pieces. Knits with wool in general ask for a cool, gentle wash or a hand wash, and for drying flat so the weight of the water does not pull the cardigan out of shape.
The wow detail: two textures, one colour
The cardigan is all straight ribs. The top is all cables, diamonds and little bobbles. Because they share a colour, you only see the difference in the way the light falls, and that makes a plain grey or black set look rich in detail.
