These flat sandals put a large bow over the toes and hold the foot with two crossed straps and an elastic strap behind the heel. You pull them on; there is no buckle to fasten.

The bow cross-strap design comes in six colours and in EU sizes 36 to 43. The supplier says they fit true to size.

The label is Chroma Creepers. The supplier lists the sandals as flat and true to size, made of PU leather, polyester and rubber, imported, and shipped without a shoe box. Its own title uses the word comfort, but it gives no details about padding or the footbed, so we make no claim there.

In the photos the bow and the straps are a woven-looking fabric in one colour, and the sole is flat with a line of stitching along the edge. The heel strap is gathered, which is what lets it stretch.

For you if you want a flat summer sandal with some character. The bow is big; it is the first thing anyone sees.

The range goes up to EU 43, which is wider than most women's sandals offer.

Materials and build: three materials

The supplier names PU leather, polyester and rubber without saying which part is which. PU leather is faux leather. Going by the photos, the bow and straps are the polyester fabric, the footbed is the faux leather and the outsole is the rubber.

That is our reading of the photos, not the supplier's statement.

Size and foot length

The supplier says true to size: order your usual size. Its chart gives a foot length per EU size, from 22.9 cm for 36 to 26.4 cm for 43.

The straps are elastic, so they adapt to a higher or lower instep. Measure your foot standing and choose the size at or just above your length.

Styling: one bow, plain everything else

The photos show them with cropped grey jeans and an anklet. Bare ankles suit them, so think cropped trousers, midi skirts and summer dresses.

Black, khaki and off-white go with most things. Green, pink and rose red are for when the sandals are the colour in the outfit.

Care

The supplier gives no care instructions. Fabric bows and straps are usually cleaned with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then left to dry in the air. We would keep them out of the washing machine so the bow keeps its shape.
