From across the room this is a light blue blouse with wide sleeves. Come closer and the front turns out to be covered in hearts, stitched on in the same blue as the fabric. That is the charm of it: the detail is there for you and for whoever sits next to you.
Och Bella made it in 100% cotton, with a stand-up collar that opens into a V-neck and two buttons at the front. It comes in sizes S to XL.

The piece: model 212657 by Och Bella
The supplier calls it a blouse in boho style, made of cotton material with a varied texture. The varied texture is the hearts. In the photos they stand slightly off the fabric and have a soft fringed edge, so they catch the light differently from the smooth cotton around them.
The cut is loose. The sleeves are long and full, and elastic gathers them at the wrist. The hem is rounded and hangs lower at the back than at the front. The back itself is plain.
You will also see a white version in the gallery. The maker no longer supplies it, so this page is about the light blue one.
Who it's for
For you if you like a romantic detail and would feel overdressed in a blouse full of ruffles. Hearts in the same colour as the fabric are about as quiet as romance gets.
It also suits you if you want a cotton top with long sleeves that leaves room to move. Nothing about it is tight.

Fabric and feel: 100% cotton
The composition is simple: 100% cotton. There is no stretch fibre in it, so the room in the cut does the work that stretch fibres do elsewhere.
In the photos the cotton looks thin, and against the light it is slightly see-through. A skin-tone top or bra underneath solves that. The maker gives no fabric weight.
Fit: loose, with long full sleeves
The maker's table lists the chest and two sleeve lengths. The chest runs from 82 cm in S to 96 cm in XL. The sleeve is 59 to 65 cm on the outside and 49 to 55 cm on the inside. There is no body length in the table; the maker calls it standard length, and on the model the front ends at the hip.
Since cotton does not give, choose by your chest measurement. If you are between two sizes, the larger one keeps the loose look you see in the photos.

Styling: skirt or jeans
The photos show two ways. Tucked into a white pleated mini skirt it looks fresh and a little preppy. Worn loose over light jeans it becomes a weekend blouse.
For the office, tuck the front into tailored trousers in navy or cream and let the back hang. Small earrings are enough, because the collar and the hearts already give the neckline something to look at.
Occasions
The supplier suggests everyday wear, work and even more formal occasions. We agree with the first two. For a formal event it depends on what you pair it with; with a smart skirt it can hold its own at a lunch or a christening.
It is a long-sleeved blouse in thin cotton, so it works from spring into early autumn and under a cardigan after that.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so follow the label sewn into the blouse.
One general tip for appliqué with a fringed edge: wash it inside out, so the hearts rub against the blouse and not against the drum.

Tone on tone is what makes this work. Hearts in a contrast colour would have made it a novelty top. In the same light blue they become texture, a bit like broderie, and the blouse stays something you can wear to a meeting.
