This is the close-fitting long-sleeve top that sits smoothly under a blazer, tucks into high trousers and still looks finished on its own. Rue Paris knits it in a fine rib of 90% cotton with 10% spandex, so it stretches to your shape and stays flat under other layers.
The small detail is at the edges. The neck, the cuffs and the hem end in a soft wavy line, which keeps a plain basic from looking too plain.

The piece: a basic top by Rue Paris
The supplier calls it a basic long-sleeve blouse with a close-fitting cut and slightly wavy edges, pleasant to the touch, elastic and airy. In the photos it is a ribbed top with a small round neck that stands up a little, long sleeves down to the wrist and a hem at the hip.
We sell it in white and in grey. The green and the taupe tops in the photos are not available, so you can only order the two colours on the buttons.
Who it's for
For you if you reach for the same few basics every morning and want one that looks a bit more thought through. It works for the office under a jacket, and for weekends with jeans and trainers.

Fabric and feel: cotton rib with stretch
The composition is 90% cotton and 10% spandex. The rib gives the fabric its texture and lets it open and close as you move, and the spandex helps it spring back, so the top keeps its shape after a day at your desk. The supplier describes it as pleasant to the touch, elastic and airy.
Fit: close to the body
The maker's table gives a chest of 82 cm in S, 86 cm in M, 91 cm in L and 96 cm in XL. It does not list the length, but in the photos the hem ends at the hip, so it tucks in easily and also sits neatly over a high waistband.

Styling
The photos show it tucked into black coated skinny trousers with a wide belt, and with a layered black tulle skirt. Both work because the top is so simple. Add a long pendant necklace, the way the model does, and the neckline gets a point of focus.
The white is easy under a navy or black blazer, or with a pleated midi skirt.
Occasions
Office days, meetings where you keep your jacket on, school runs, dinners out with a skirt and heels. The maker's own description says the same: an everyday basic that can go to a party once you change the shoes and accessories.
Care
The maker's data has no care instructions, so follow the label sewn into the top. Dry ribbed tops flat if you can; they keep their length better than on a hanger.
