The supplier files the colour as blue. In the photos the ground is a dark blue-purple, covered with small flowers in pink, red, blue and yellow, so from a distance the blouse reads as a soft berry tone. Judge the colour by the photos.

The photos also show details the text leaves out: a small ruffle along the neckline and the hem, and sleeves that are gathered at the cuff.

Who it's for

For you if you like a romantic top with a short cut. It is made to be worn with a high waist, and on the model it leaves a strip of midriff bare.

Fabric and feel: cotton with a little stretch

The maker lists 95% cotton and 5% spandex. Cotton breathes and feels familiar on the skin, and the spandex lets a fitted, gathered top move with you.

In the photos the body of the blouse is gathered all over, which gives the fabric a crinkled texture and makes the fit forgiving across the bust.

Fit and silhouette: fitted and short

The maker's table gives one number per size: a chest of 82 cm for S, 86 cm for M and 91 cm for L. Those are small numbers, so this blouse runs close to the body. The gathers and the spandex give some room on top of that.

If your bust measures more than the number for your usual size, take the next size up. The drawstring lets you decide how tight the front sits: pull it for more gathers, loosen it for a smoother front.

In the photos the blouse is worn with high-waisted black jeans, and that is the obvious partner. A high-waisted skirt in jeans blue or black works the same way.

The print is busy, so keep the rest plain. White trainers for the day, sandals with a small heel for the evening, and a short jacket over it when the sun goes down.
