Most tights are synthetic. These are mostly cotton, and that is the reason to choose them.

For you if synthetic tights make your legs itch or feel clammy, and you would like cotton against your skin. Cotton tights feel more like a fine knit than like hosiery.

Black goes up to size 5-XL. Beige and red stop at 4-L.

Materials: 86% cotton

The composition is 86% cotton, 12% polyamide and 2% spandex. The polyamide and spandex are there to keep the shape; the cotton is what you feel.

With only 2% spandex these stretch less than regular sheer tights. Expect them to behave like a thin, close knit that may bag slightly at the knee by the end of the day, as cotton does.

Size and fit: by hip measurement

Gatta sizes by hips: 96-108 cm for 2-S, 104-116 cm for 3-M, 112-124 cm for 4-L and, in black, 120-134 cm for 5-XL.

Because cotton gives less than a synthetic yarn, we would size up if you are tall or at the upper end of a range.

Styling: with knits and boots

The maker suggests skirts and knit dresses. Matte cotton tights go well with other matte textures: a corduroy skirt, a chunky jumper dress, flat boots.

Wine red under a grey or navy dress is a good way to add colour in November. The cream pair looks fresh with brown boots and a beige knit.

Care: follow the packaging

The maker's data has no care instructions; look at the packaging. Cotton tights are usually less fragile than sheer ones, but a laundry bag still helps them keep their shape.

Look for the darker toe and the panty line, and you will not find them. The knit runs in one piece from waistband to toes. That means no seam across your toes inside a boot, and no line showing under a thin skirt.
