Three-in-One Melon Baller Set with Two Fruit Loop Scoops, Stainless Steel
For making uniform fruit balls or dividing soft fruit cleanly.
Description
A melon baller with two extra tools tucked around it
This is a melon baller set made of three parts. In the middle sits the classic round scoop for making fruit balls. Around it nest two loop tools: thin bands of stainless steel that you pull through a melon or papaya to core it and divide the flesh from the skin.
The three parts slide into each other, so the whole set takes the space of one tool. It is 26 cm long and weighs 0.189 kg.

The piece: scoop, core, divide
The supplier calls it three-in-one: scoop, core and divide. The ball scoop has a mid-blue handle and a small hole in the bowl, which on scoops like this lets air in so the ball drops out. The larger loops have a light blue and a grey handle.
We sell it as "No brand", because the supplier names no maker. The papaya and the cutting board in the photo are props.
Who it's for
For you if you cut up a melon most weeks in summer and are tired of doing it with a knife and a spoon. It is also fun if you like to make a fruit salad look good for a birthday or a barbecue.
The supplier describes the grip as made for an adult hand. The steel bands have edges, so this is not a tool for small children.
Closer look: what we can confirm
- Stainless steel (supplier)
- Three functions: scoop, core, divide (supplier)
- Three separate tools that nest together (photos)
- 26 cm long, 0.189 kg (supplier)
- Blue and grey handles (supplier and photos)
The supplier does not say what the handles are made of, how wide the scoop is, or whether the set can go in the dishwasher.
Materials: stainless steel where it touches the fruit
The working parts, the scoop and the two bands, are stainless steel according to the supplier. The handles are coloured blue and grey; their material is not stated.
Size: 26 cm, fits a drawer
Nested, the set is 26 cm long and shaped like a flat teardrop, so it lies in a cutlery drawer or hangs from a hook. The largest loop suits a halved melon or papaya; the smaller loop fits smaller fruit. The supplier gives no width for the loops or the scoop.
How to use it
Halve the fruit and remove the seeds. For balls, press the round scoop into the flesh and turn your wrist. For slices, push a loop in along the skin and pull it through in one movement: the band follows the curve of the rind and lifts the flesh out. Use the smaller loop to split the piece again.
Melon balls in a bowl with mint, papaya boats for breakfast, or a watermelon bowl at a party all start here.
Occasions
Summer barbecues, children's parties (with you doing the scooping), Sunday brunch, a picnic, or as a small housewarming gift for someone who likes to cook.
Care: rinse straight away
The supplier gives no care instructions and does not say if the set is dishwasher safe. To be on the careful side, rinse the parts by hand right after use, since fruit sugars dry sticky, and dry them before you nest them again.
The wow detail: three tools, one outline
What we like is how it stores. The scoop sits inside the small loop, the small loop inside the large one, and together they make one tidy teardrop. Kitchen gadgets usually end up in a tangle at the back of a drawer. This one puts itself away.
