The piece: models 156084 and 183011 by Marko
Marko describes smooth, high swimsuit bottoms that you can combine with your favourite swimsuit top. The front has a delicate, comfortable lining, and the maker calls the fabric Italian.
The navy pair is model 156084 and the blue pair is model 183011. Text and size table are the same for both.
A note on the word high. In the photos the waistband sits a few centimetres below the navel, so think of a full brief more than of a retro waist-high cut. There is a small metal tag at the left hip.
Who they're for
For you if you want more fabric than a standard bikini brief gives you, at the back and at the sides. They also solve the problem of a top that still fits and bottoms that don't.
Plain blue goes with a lot: stripes, florals, white, the top from last year's set.

Fabric and feel: polyamide with 20% spandex
The composition is 80% polyamide and 20% spandex, a common blend for swimwear. Twenty percent spandex gives a lot of stretch, so the briefs sit close without digging in.
The maker says the lined front gives a good fit. It makes no claims about chlorine or sun protection, and we add none.
Fit and silhouette: choose by your hips
The table gives one measurement, the hips width: 90 cm for S, 94 cm for M, 98 cm for L and 102 cm for XL. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and take the size that matches.
Swimwear relaxes a little in water. If you are between two sizes, the smaller one is usually the better choice for swimming and the larger one for lying on a towel.

Styling: mix with the top you have
That is the maker's own advice, and it is good. Navy goes with white, red and stripes for a nautical look. The brighter blue suits yellow, coral or a print that has some blue in it.
Off the beach, a shirt worn open and a pair of sandals are all you need on top.

As a general habit with swimwear, rinse it in cold fresh water after every swim, squeeze it out gently and dry it in the shade. Sunscreen and chlorine left in the fabric wear out spandex.
