Chunky loafers with a gold-tone ornament
These chunky loafers by Solea put a classic shape on a thick sole. You slip them on, the heel is 4.5 cm, and across the front sits a smooth gold-tone ornament the size of a large coin.
The upper and the insole are synthetic leather. There are two colours, beige and black, in sizes 36 to 41.

The piece: a moccasin on a platform
Solea calls them moccasins in one description and loafers in the other. Both texts agree on the rest: synthetic leather, a slip-on style, a gold ornament at the front, a soft insole and a stable 4.5 cm heel. The maker suggests them for work and for everyday wear.
The photos show the proportions. The toe is rounded, with the raised seam you know from a moccasin. A strap crosses the instep and carries the ornament, a smooth dome in a gold tone. Under it all is a thick sole in the colour of the shoe, with a ridged edge and a block heel moulded into it.
The ornament is gold in colour only. The maker does not say what it is made of.
Who they're for
For you if you want a few centimetres of height without wearing a heel that feels like one. A 4.5 cm block under a thick sole keeps the foot nearly level.
They also suit you if you avoid animal leather. The black model is described by the maker as vegan leather and the beige as synthetic leather; the attribute list calls both artificial leather.

Materials and build: synthetic leather inside and out
Both the upper and the footbed are synthetic leather, according to the maker. In the photos the upper is smooth with a soft sheen, and it keeps its shape when the model bends her foot.
The sole material is not in the supplier data. From the photos it is a thick moulded sole. We cannot tell you its weight or how flexible it is, so expect the firmer step that comes with any platform loafer.
Size and fit: half a centimetre per size
The maker gives the insole length per size: 23.5 cm for 36, 24 cm for 37, 24.5 cm for 38, 25 cm for 39, 25.5 cm for 40 and 26 cm for 41. Measure your foot and pick the insole that is a little longer.
A slip-on has to hold your heel without laces, so do not size up more than you need. Which sizes are in stock per colour you see on the size buttons. At the time of writing the supplier has far more beige than black.

Styling: socks, tights or bare ankles
In the photos the loafers are worn with patterned tights, which is a good autumn answer. A thin sock in white or black works as well and gives them a school-shoe look.
The black pair goes with straight jeans, a pleated skirt or a trouser suit. The beige pair is softer and looks good with cream, camel and light blue. Let the trouser hem end above the shoe so the ornament stays in view.
Occasions
The maker made these for work and for everyday wear, and that covers most of the week: the office, lectures, a lunch, a day of errands in town. With a dress and tights they are smart enough for a birthday dinner.
Care: a damp cloth
The maker's data has no care instructions. Synthetic leather usually needs little: wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry at room temperature. Polish the ornament with a dry soft cloth so it keeps its shine, and avoid abrasive cleaners on it.
