This self-cleaning hairbrush has a push button on the back of the head. Press it and the pins pull back into the cushion, so the hair that has collected between them lifts off in one go.

The brush is plastic, about 25 cm long, with a round head about 9 cm across. You choose white, green or pink, and the brush alone or with a holder.

Materials and build: plastic with a moving head

The supplier states plastic and does not say more about the pins or the cushion. In the photos the pins are dark with small balls on the tips, and a silver-coloured rim runs around the cushion.

The moving part is the head. With the button pressed, the cushion sits level with the tips of the pins, which is how the hair comes off. Let go and the pins stand out again.

Size and dimensions: about 25 cm long

The supplier's measurement photo gives about 25 cm for the whole brush and about 9 cm across the head. That is the size of an ordinary paddle or cushion brush, so it fits a bathroom drawer and a weekend bag.

Colours and the holder

White, green and pink are the three colours. The green is a deep bottle green in the photos, the pink a pale one.

With the holder option you also get a ring that the handle stands in. In the photos that ring is grey for every brush colour. The supplier does not say whether it is meant for the wall or for a shelf, so we can't tell you how it is fixed. Ask us before you order if that matters to you.

When you'll use it

You use it every morning, and you press the button whenever the head fills up. It is a practical gift as well, for a teenager with long hair or for a student who is furnishing a first bathroom.

Care: press, wipe, done

The supplier gives no care instructions. After you have pressed the hair off, wipe the cushion with a damp cloth now and then. Because there is a mechanism inside the head, we would not leave the brush lying in water.

One of the supplier's photos shows the moment: a thumb on the button, and the whole mat of hair lifts off the pins in one piece. It is the kind of small mechanism you end up showing to visitors.
