Description
A long men's wool overcoat for the cold months
This is a long, single-breasted men's wool overcoat with a notch lapel and three buttons. The supplier lists the cloth as 69.1% wool, 27.6% other fibres and 3.3% lyocell, and calls it thick.
It comes in brown, dark grey and light grey, in five sizes. One thing you should know before you read on: the sizes carry labels like 170/88A, and the chart under fit gives the chest, length and sleeve for each.

The piece: a classic overcoat shape
The coat is sold under the label Sharp Look. In the photos it hangs straight from the shoulder, closes with three buttons in a single row and has a notch lapel. There is a welt pocket on the chest, a pocket at each side and a row of buttons on each cuff.
One photo shows the coat open. The upper body has a quilted inner panel and below it the lining is smooth. The supplier's text does not describe the lining, so that is all we can tell you about the inside.
Who it's for
For you if you want one long coat that goes over a suit on Monday and over a jumper on Saturday. A plain front and a notch lapel don't date quickly, and the three colours are the ones most wardrobes already work with.
The size labels are unusual, so check the chart under fit before you buy. We would rather say that here than have you find out when the parcel arrives.

Fabric and feel: mostly wool
Just over two thirds of the cloth is wool. The supplier groups 27.6% under "other fibres" without naming them, and the last 3.3% is lyocell. We pass that on as it is; we don't know what the other fibres are.
In the photos the brown has a fine mottled surface, a mix of lighter and darker threads. The dark grey is close to charcoal and the light grey is really a mid grey.
Fit and sizes: read this before you order
The sizes are 170/88A, 175/92A, 180/96A, 185/100A and 190/104A. The supplier does not explain these labels, but its chart gives figures for each. The coat is 102.1 cm long in 170/88A and 108 cm in 190/104A, the chest runs from 108 cm to 124 cm and the sleeve from 61 cm to 63.5 cm. The supplier does not say how it measures, so compare the figures with a coat you already own.
The photos show the coat on a hanger, so we can't tell you where the hem ends on a body. If the coat does not fit, you can return it within 30 days.

Styling: roll-neck, shirt or knit
The photos show the coat over a white roll-neck, and that is a good place to start. The brown works well with cream, blue jeans and dark green. Dark grey is the office choice, over a suit or with a shirt and wool trousers.
Light grey is the easiest of the three with jeans and white trainers. A scarf in a plain colour fills the open lapel on colder days.
Occasions
Wear it on the commute, to a dinner, to a funeral or a wedding in winter, or on a Sunday walk into town. A long plain coat is the one piece of outerwear that is never out of place over smart clothes.
Care: what the supplier says
The supplier's care instruction is machine wash cold, tumble dry low. For a coat that is mostly wool that is a generous instruction, so check the label sewn into the coat first and follow that if it says something else.
The wow detail: the inside
From the outside this is a quiet coat. Open it and the upper body shows a quilted panel in a light stone colour, with a smooth lining underneath. You are the only one who sees it, when you hang the coat over a chair.
