Description
A meat injector for marinade, broth or butter
This meat injector looks like a large syringe. You fill the clear barrel with marinade, push the needle into the meat and press the plunger, so the flavour ends up deep inside the cut.
It is about 22 cm long with a 7.5 cm needle, made of plastic and stainless steel according to the supplier. You choose a red or a black handle.

The piece: barrel, plunger, needle
There are three parts. The barrel is clear, with a measuring scale printed on the side, so you can see how much you have drawn up. The plunger has a metal rod and a curved thumb rest, and two hooks on the barrel give your fingers grip. The needle screws onto the front.
We sell it without a brand, because the supplier names no maker.
Who it's for
For the person who does the barbecue, smokes a pork shoulder on Saturdays, or roasts a turkey or a large chicken at Christmas. If you already marinate overnight and still find the middle of a thick cut bland, this is the tool for that.
Closer look: what we can confirm
- Plastic and stainless steel (supplier)
- Needle 7.5 cm long and 0.5 cm thick (supplier)
- About 22 cm long in total, handle 7 cm wide (supplier photo)
- Clear barrel with a measuring scale (photos)
- Needle unscrews from the barrel (photos)
- Red or black handle, one piece per order (supplier)
The turkey and vegetables in the photos are props, sadly.
Materials: plastic and stainless steel
The supplier lists plastic and stainless steel. From the photos, the barrel and grips are the plastic parts and the needle and plunger rod are the metal parts. The supplier does not state which plastic it is, and gives no food-contact or dishwasher statement.
The supplier also gives no capacity in millilitres. The barrel has a scale, but we can't read the numbers reliably from the photos, so we don't quote one.
Size: 22 cm long, 7.5 cm needle
The supplier's measurement photo gives about 22 cm from the needle tip to the thumb rest and 7 cm across the handle. The needle is 7.5 cm long and 0.5 cm thick. That is long enough to reach the middle of a chicken breast or a pork shoulder from the side.
A needle this wide suits thin liquids such as broth, melted butter or a strained marinade. Bits of garlic or herbs can block it, so strain your marinade first.
How to use it
Draw up the liquid with the needle in the bowl. Push the needle into the thickest part of the meat and press slowly while you pull the needle back, so the liquid spreads along the channel. Repeat every few centimetres. Do it over a tray, because some will run out.
Occasions
Use it for a summer barbecue with pork shoulder, a Christmas turkey or a Sunday roast chicken with herb butter. It is also a small gift for the person in your family who never stops talking about low and slow.
Care: rinse it straight away
The supplier gives no care instructions. As general practice for a marinade injector: unscrew the needle, pull warm soapy water through the barrel and the needle right after use, rinse and let the parts dry apart. Marinade that dries inside a needle is hard to get out. Mind the tip, and store it out of reach of children.
The wow detail: you can see what you inject
Because the barrel is clear and has a scale, you can give each side of the roast the same amount. That takes the guesswork out, and it is satisfying to watch the level drop as you press.
