These knee-high boots with heel have a pointed toe, a straight block heel of 10.5 cm and a shaft of 39.5 cm that stops just below the knee. A zip runs along the full height, so getting in and out is easy.

The supplier calls them classic high-heeled boots. The description lists a pointed toe, a zip along the whole shaft, a stiffened heel counter and a column-shaped heel.

On colours: the beige is a pale peach-beige in the photos and our button calls it Peach. The brown is a light cognac. Black is black, with a soft sheen. The brown pair has the widest choice of sizes at the supplier right now; beige and black are down to the last sizes.

Who they are for

For you if you want height and still want to stand on something solid. A block heel of 10.5 cm is high, no question, but it carries your weight better than a thin heel of the same height.

They are also for people who avoid animal materials: upper and insole are faux leather. If you rarely wear heels, be honest about the 10.5 cm before you order.

The supplier does not state the lining or the sole material, and gives no calf width.

Materials and build: faux leather inside and out

The data sheet gives artificial leather for the upper and for the footbed. We call it faux leather. In the photos it is smooth with a soft sheen, and supple enough to fold at the ankle the way a slouch boot does.

The heel counter is stiffened, which keeps the back of the boot upright around your heel. The pair weighs 1600 grams according to the supplier, probably with the box.

Size and dimensions: insole, shaft and heel

Insole lengths per size: 23.5 cm for 36, 24 cm for 37, 24.5 cm for 38, 25.5 cm for 39, 26.5 cm for 40 and 27 cm for 41. A pointed toe takes up some of that length, so if you are between two sizes, the larger one is the safer choice.

The shaft is 39.5 cm high. Measure from the floor up your leg to see where it ends on you. The maker gives no calf width; if you have fuller calves, ask us before ordering and we will try to get the measurement.

Styling: hem above the boot or well below it

In the photos the boots are worn with short dresses and skirts, so a strip of leg shows between hem and shaft. That is the classic way.

The other way is a midi skirt that falls over the top of the boot, which looks good in the brown. Skinny jeans or leggings tuck inside. The beige pair is the surprise of the three: with cream or camel it makes a tonal outfit that looks more expensive than it is.

Occasions

These are boots for dinners, parties, the office on a day without much walking, and autumn weddings. The supplier says the model goes with many outfits, and a plain pointed boot usually does.

For a long day on cobblestones, bring flats in your bag.

Care: wipe, do not soak

The maker's data has no care text. Faux leather is usually cleaned with a soft damp cloth and dried away from direct heat. Leather creams are made for real hides and are not needed here.

Store the boots upright, with boot shapers or rolled magazines in the shafts, so the soft upper does not crease where you do not want it to.

The wow detail: a heel in the same colour

The block heel is wrapped in the same material as the boot, so from toe to top edge there is one unbroken colour. On the beige and the brown pair that makes the whole boot look like an extension of the leg. Only the thin dark sole draws a line underneath.
