A short one-shoulder feather dress with a ruffle
Bicotone built this dress around one shoulder. A layered ruffle sits on the right side, edged with thin feathers, and the left shoulder stays bare. Below that the dress is short, close-fitting and draped at the waist.
It closes with a zip at the back and it is lined. The maker gives a length of 84 cm in size 34 and 88 cm in size 42. There are nine colours to choose from.

The piece: short, lined and made for parties
The supplier's description is brief: a short one-shoulder feather dress for special occasions that fastens with a zipper at the back and has a lining. It files the dress under evening dresses. Our old title called it a flowing evening gown, which it is not. It ends well above the knee.
The photos fill in the rest. The neckline runs in a straight diagonal from the ruffle to under the left arm. At the left side of the waist the fabric is gathered in pleats, and the skirt overlaps in front, so the hem curves like a tulip.
Who it's for
For you if you want to be noticed at a party and are happy to show legs and one shoulder. This dress does not hide; the ruffle adds width at the top and the skirt is narrow.
A strapless or one-shoulder bra is part of the plan. The cut is close: size 38 has a chest of 88 cm, a waist of 72 cm and hips of 92 cm.

The supplier does not say whether the feathers are real or synthetic, and the composition does not list them. If that matters to you, ask us before you order.
Fabric and feel: smooth, with 7% spandex
The composition is 93% polyester and 7% spandex. In the photos the fabric is smooth and matte, and thick enough for the ruffle to stand up without drooping.
The spandex gives the stretch a short fitted dress needs for sitting and dancing. The lining is mentioned by the maker without a composition of its own.
Fit and length: close and short
The maker's table runs from size 34 to 42 for every colour, and adds a size 44 for the two reds and cobalt blue. Length goes from 84 cm in 34 to 88 cm in 42, and 90 cm in 44. On the model the hem sits at mid-thigh.
Hips go up four centimetres per size, from 84 cm to 100 cm in size 42. Because of the overlap in front, the hem opens a little when you walk or sit. Try sitting down in it before the big night.

Styling: the shoulder is the accessory
The photos keep it simple: heeled sandals or pumps, a small bag, hoop earrings. A necklace would fight with the diagonal neckline, so leave it off.
Wear your hair up or swept to the bare side, so the ruffle and feathers stay visible. For the walk to the venue, a blazer over the shoulders works better than a coat with tight sleeves, which will crush the ruffle.
Occasions
The supplier says special occasions and we would not argue. Think of a birthday party, a wedding party as a guest in one of the colours, New Year's Eve, a night out dancing. In white it could be a dress for your own civil ceremony or hen party.
It is short, so for a dress code that asks for a long gown you need something else.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the dress.
Feather trims in general do not like a washing machine. Until you have read the label, keep the shoulder dry and hang the dress with room around the ruffle.

From across the room you see a sculpted ruffle. Up close you see fine feathers along its edges, moving with every breath of air. They soften the hard line of the ruffle. In black they almost disappear; in white and light blue they show most.
