Fuzzy winter socks with a fold-over sherpa cuff

These are thick, fuzzy socks for cold floors and long evenings on the sofa. The body is a dense pile knit with long soft hairs on the outside, and the top folds over into a white sherpa cuff.

The old name spoke of a heated foot warmer. Nothing here is heated: the supplier makes them without wires or batteries, and the warmth comes only from the thick knit. They come in pink, grey, black and a few two-colour options.

The piece: a sock that looks like a small blanket

Up close the knit looks almost furry. On the pink, coral and black pairs you can see a cable pattern under the fluff, which gives them a bit of a knitted-jumper look. The cuff is the contrast: a thick white sherpa band, folded over at the top.

We sell them under wowstore.live, but we did not design or make them ourselves. The supplier gives no fibre composition, so we cannot tell you what the yarn is made of, only that the cuff is a white fleece sherpa.

Who they're for

Fabric and feel

The supplier describes a dense pile knit that insulates the sole, arch and heel, and a sherpa cuff in white fleece. No fibre percentages are given. In the photos the outside is covered with long, soft-looking hairs, so expect a fluffy sock rather than a smooth one, and maybe a few loose fibres after the first wash.

Size and fit

The supplier lists them as ankle-high, and on the model they end just above the ankle with the cuff folded. There is no size in the supplier data, so we cannot tell you which shoe sizes they fit. Ask us before you order if you have small or large feet.

One more thing to check: several options are named after two colours, such as Pink purple or Black black, and their photos show two pairs side by side. The supplier does not say whether such an option holds one pair or two, so ask us if that matters to you.

Styling: pyjama meets jumper

Pink goes well with a grey jogging suit, and grey with a cream knitted cardigan. Black works with whatever you have on. The white cuff peeks out above slippers and makes even an old pair of leggings look like you planned it.

When you would wear them

Wear them on a Sunday morning with coffee or in a chilly holiday cottage. Some people sleep in socks like these on cold nights, too. Two pairs in a gift bag work well for Sinterklaas or a secret Santa.

Care

The supplier says they are machine washable on a cool cycle. We would turn them inside out and wash them with similar colours, since pink and black side by side in one load is asking for trouble. Let them dry flat or on a rack.

Every colour gets the same thick white sherpa cuff, and it is what makes these socks look cosy in a photo even before you put them on. Fold it down further for a looser look, or pull it up over the ankle on a really cold evening.
