Numoco made this chiffon midi dress for evenings when you want sleeves and still want to feel light. The body is lined all the way, the long sleeves are sheer.

Every size is 100 cm long according to the maker, which puts the hem around the knee on the model. The fabric is 95% polyester with 5% spandex. There are two colours: beige and bottle green.

Numoco is a Polish dress label, and the supplier states that this dress is produced in Poland. The data is short and clear: a chiffon midi dress with long sleeves, a finished neckline, and the entire dress sewn on a lining.

The photos show the shape. The neckline is a crossed V with gathers at the shoulders. A seam at the waist is gathered too, and from there the skirt widens and ends in a flounce. On each shoulder sits a small gold-tone ornament.

In our colour menu the beige dress is called "Taupe". In the photos it is a warm sand shade. The green is the deep bottle green the maker names.

Fabric and feel: chiffon over a lining

The maker gives 95% polyester and 5% spandex. Chiffon is a thin, slightly grainy weave that light passes through, and you can see that in the sleeves and at the flounce, where the fabric is a single layer.

Over the body and skirt the lining makes the dress opaque. In the photos the skirt lifts and swings when the model holds it out, so there is a good amount of fabric in it. We have no fabric weight to give you.

Fit and silhouette: the waist is the tight spot

The maker's table lists a waist of 64 cm in S, 70 cm in M, 76 cm in L and 82 cm in XL. Chest runs from 80 to 98 cm and hips from 92 to 110 cm. With a gathered waist seam and a wide skirt, the waist and the chest decide your size; the hips have room.

The length is the same 100 cm in all four sizes. If you are taller, the hem will sit above your knee; if you are shorter, it moves towards mid-calf.

Styling: gold with beige, nude with green

The model wears clear heeled sandals and carries a small clutch. That keeps the eye on the dress. The shoulder ornaments are gold-tone, so gold-tone earrings or a thin bracelet tie in easily.

With the bottle green, nude or black shoes both work. Wear the beige without a belt and let a lipstick do the contrast. A short blazer or a cropped faux-fur jacket covers the walk outside in winter.

Occasions

The supplier files it under formal and cocktail dresses. Think of a wedding as a guest, a Christmas dinner, an anniversary, a first communion or a company party. Bottle green is a December colour. The beige suits spring and summer events and photographs well next to brighter colours.

Care: follow the label

The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the dress.

Chiffon snags. Take off bracelets with clasps before you pull the sleeves on, and hang the dress on a hanger so the flounce does not crease.

The wow detail: the shoulders

The gathers of the neckline all start at the shoulder, and that is where Numoco put a small gold-tone ornament. It marks the point where the fabric fans out towards the waist. You notice it most in photos taken from the front, where both shoulders catch the light.
