This is a plush cushion cover in a rectangular 30 x 50 cm size, with a white pattern of braided lines and zigzags running from top to bottom. The base colour is yours to pick: Double Black, Double Pink or Khaki.

You can buy the cover on its own for a cushion you already have, or with the insert so it is ready for the sofa as soon as it arrives.

The supplier describes the cover as artificial plush with a soft, tactile finish, made with a splicing weaving process. In the photos the pile looks short and dense, and the white pattern stands a little higher than the coloured base. That is where the product name, shearing groove, comes from, and it is what makes you want to run your hand over it.

We sell it without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker. The supplier gives no fibre content either, so we call it plush and leave it at that.

For you if your sofa or bed needs one soft accent without a full makeover. A 30 x 50 cm cushion is the long, low kind that sits in front of bigger square ones, or on its own against the back of a chair.

It is also a small, easy present for someone who has just moved, as long as you know which colour they live with.

Material and build: plush, woven in parts

Artificial plush is a soft pile fabric, the kind you know from teddy bears. The supplier adds that the cover is made with a splicing weaving process, which means the surface is woven in sections and joined, and that is how the white pattern and the coloured base sit side by side.

We can't tell you the fibre, the weight or the thickness, because the supplier doesn't list them. What the photos do show is a dense, even surface without loose threads.

Size: which cushion it fits

The cover is 30 x 50 cm. It fits a 30 x 50 cm insert, which is the option you can add. If you use your own cushion, measure it flat from seam to seam: a cushion of the same size gives a full, plump look.

One honest note. In the photos the cushion looks closer to square than a 30 x 50 cm shape would. The supplier lists 30 x 50 cm as the only size, and that is the size you receive. We would rather tell you than let the photos surprise you.

Styling: one pattern, calm around it

The supplier styled all three colours on a cream sofa with a cream throw, and that is a good starting point. The white pattern connects with light fabrics, so the cushion looks planned rather than added.

Double Black gives contrast on a light sofa. Khaki is the quiet choice for beige and warm brown tones. Double Pink works in a bedroom or a girl's room, or as the one bright thing on a grey couch. Pair it with plain cushions and let this one carry the pattern.

Occasions

Autumn is when most of us start wanting softer things around the house, and a plush cover is a quick way to get there. It is also a nice extra in a Sinterklaas or Christmas parcel, or a small housewarming gift to go with a card.

Care: check the label first

The supplier gives no care instructions, so follow the label on the cover. If there is no label, ask us and we will ask the supplier. As general practice with plush, brush it by hand in the direction of the pile to keep it looking even, and treat small marks with a damp cloth before you think about a full wash.

The wow detail: a pattern that stands up

Most printed covers are flat. Here the white braids and zigzags stand slightly above the coloured base in the photos, so light catches the edges and the pattern throws small shadows. You notice it from across the room, and you feel it the moment you lean back.
