Fashion in Amsterdam: how to choose pieces you will keep long
This guide is for anyone in Amsterdam buying clothes, who wants clear facts not marketing words.
What this guide is for
We are an online store with our team desk in Amsterdam, no physical shop. We ship across the EU. We will not use empty marketing words. We will only tell you things you can check yourself, right now, before you order. You do not need to trust what any shop says about a garment. You can check three simple things every time. Those three things will tell you more than any descriptive word on a homepage. This works for clothes you buy anywhere, not just here. You can use these steps for every garment you consider buying, for every budget, for every season. 5% of each sale goes to a cause you choose. You will find our full clothing range here: Everyday Clothing, Women's Collection

Always check fibre first
When you land on a product page, first look for fibre composition. Where the maker gives it, this will be listed near the size options. Do not skip this part. Fibre tells you how the piece will feel against your skin, how it will wash, how much it will crease, and how long it will keep its shape. This is not a judgement about any fibre. Some people prefer wool for cold days, some prefer acrylic because it does not itch. Some like cotton, some do not like ironing. There is no right answer, only the right answer for you. You get to decide what fibre fits your life. No shop gets to tell you one is better than another. Learn how to look after different fabrics in the Fabric care guide.
Try garments on without leaving home
You do not have to guess how a piece will look on you. You do not have to order three sizes just to find one that fits. You can make a simple avatar once, or upload a photo of yourself. Then, on any product page that has the tool, you can put the garment straight onto your avatar. You will see how it sits, how the length falls, how the shape works with your body. This works at any time, from anywhere in Amsterdam or the rest of the EU. You do not need to travel anywhere, you do not need to queue, you do not need to change clothes. You can access the try on tool here: Avatar Studio
Use cost per wear to decide
Instead of looking only at the price tag, run this quick sum for any piece you are considering. Divide the full price by the number of times you think you will wear it. That is your cost per wear. For example: a €60 coat worn 60 times costs €1 per wear. A €20 top worn 3 times costs €6.60 per wear. This number will tell you more than any sale sign. It is always better to spend a little more on something you will wear every week, than less on something you will put on once and leave in the back of your wardrobe. You can test outfits before you buy in the Mix & Match Studio, or browse items built for regular wear: Mix & Match Wardrobe
Plan around what you already own
Before you buy anything new, open your wardrobe. Pull out every piece you own that fits you right now. Lay them out. Note what you actually reach for. Note the gaps. Note the colours that you already wear all the time. Most new clothes you buy will go with what you already own, not with other new things. You can log pieces you already own in your Virtual Closet. You can test new pieces against them, make outfits, and check before you buy if something will actually work with what you already have. This is the easiest way to stop buying things you will never wear. Log your items here: Virtual Closet
How we list garments on this store
When we list a garment, we follow three simple rules.
- We publish the exact fibre composition the maker gives us. We do not add extra words to make it sound nicer.
- We post the size guide as we receive it. Where available, you will see measurements for each size.
- We avoid describing a garment with words that do not tell you anything concrete.
You can check all of this yourself on any product page. If something is not listed, you can ask us. For sizing help see the Size guide. For everyday layering pieces you can wear often, browse Sweaters & Cardigans and Timeless Skirts.
Pieces to try in the Dressing Room
Real pieces you can order now. Open one and try it on your avatar in Magic Mirror before you decide; your size and today's price are on the product page.

How giving works when you shop with us
5% of each sale goes to a cause you choose. After your order you pick one of three causes: CARE International, Cool Earth or Project Zero. The donation is paid out through PayPal Giving Fund UK. Those three causes, together with how we run our own store (honest product data, fair prices), are matched to 11 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
That is the heart of the 1% Movement: small choices × millions of us = change. It is a giving promise we can show you, and it is the only promise we make on this page.
