A long flannel bathrobe for slow mornings

This is a long flannel bathrobe with a shawl collar, a belt you tie at the waist and two pockets. On the model it reaches the lower calf. It is sold as a unisex robe in sizes M, L and XL.

There are four colours: dark grey, pink, navy blue and wine red. One thing to know before you order: the photos show matching trousers, and we cannot confirm they are included. More on that below.

The piece: a classic wrap robe

The robe wraps at the front and closes with a belt in the same fabric. The shawl collar is wide, and in the photos the collar and the turned-back cuffs have a slightly different, textured surface in the same colour. Two patch pockets sit at hip height, where your hands end up anyway.

Who it's for

For you if the first thing you do after a shower is look for something soft to put on, and you keep it on until lunch on Sundays. The robe is sold for men and women. The photos only show it on a woman, so men should allow for a narrower shoulder than they may be used to.

The open question is the trousers. Every photo shows the robe with matching trousers, worn and laid flat. Our product data describes a bathrobe only. Until the supplier confirms, please assume you receive the robe, and ask us if the trousers matter to you.

Fabric and feel: plush flannel

The robe is sold as thick flannel. In the photos the fabric is a plush with a soft sheen, the kind that shows the direction you stroke it in. We have no fibre composition from the supplier, so we don't name one. A plush like this usually sheds a little fluff in the first washes.

Fit: long and roomy, sizes M to XL

We have no size chart for this robe, only the sizes M, L and XL. A wrap robe forgives a lot, because the belt sets the width. On the model the robe is roomy in the sleeve and ends at the lower calf; on someone taller it will end higher.

If you want chest and length measurements before you order, ask us and we will request them from the supplier.

How to wear it

Over pyjamas, over a T-shirt and leggings, or straight after the bath. The photos pair it with a white T-shirt and white slippers. Dark grey and navy hide coffee stains; pink and wine red are the cheerful ones.

Occasions

Cold mornings, film nights on the sofa, a weekend in a holiday cottage. It is also a classic December gift for a parent or a partner.

Care: follow the label

We have no care instructions from the supplier, so follow the label sewn into the robe. We would rather tell you that than guess. Wash dark colours separately the first time.

The wide shawl collar is what makes this feel like a hotel robe. Fold it up around your neck when you step out of the shower, or leave it flat. It is a small thing that you notice every single morning.
