The round base is the fruit, and the green stem that rises out of it is the handle. Put the brush back and the base closes around it.

It is plastic, about 39 cm tall and 14 cm across. You pick burgundy with a black, white or red brush, or an orange, green or red base.

At a glance

Material

Plastic; the supplier states ABS/PP

Size

About 14 x 39 x 14 cm

Parts

Brush with a curved stem handle, round base that closes

Options

Burgundy with a black, white or red brush; orange; green; red

Included

One brush and one base

Brand

No brand

The piece: fruit below, stem above

In the photos the base is a glossy ball with a dimple at the top, the way a cherry has. A disc on the handle sits just above the brush head and closes the opening when the brush is in.

We sell it without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker.

Who it's for

For you if you think the least loved object in the bathroom may as well be cheerful. The data does not say which part is made of which. The bristles are black, white or red depending on the option you choose.

The supplier adds claims about bacteria and smell. We have no test to back those up, so we leave them out.

Size and dimensions: 39 cm tall, 14 cm across

The supplier gives the size as about 14 x 39 x 14 cm. In plain terms: the base takes up a circle of about 14 cm on the floor, and the tip of the stem ends about 39 cm above it. Measure the gap next to your toilet before you order.

Styling: which colour says what

Burgundy is the one that looks most like a real cherry, and with the black brush it is the quietest choice. The red is brighter. The green and the orange read more like an apple and an orange with a stem, which is its own kind of fun.

In the photos the orange and the green version come with a white brush. For the red option the photos only show it closed, so we cannot tell you the brush colour.

Occasions

Buy it when you redo the guest toilet and want one thing in the room that makes people smile. It also works as a housewarming present for friends with a sense of humour.

Care: rinse, drip, close

The supplier gives no care instructions. As general practice for any toilet brush: rinse it in the flush water after use, let it drip for a moment above the bowl, and then put it back. Empty and clean the base now and then, since water collects at the bottom of a closed holder.

The wow detail: the stem is the handle

The designer needed a handle and the fruit already had one. The curl at the top of the stem is where your hand goes, and the curve that makes it look like a cherry stalk is the same curve that helps the brush reach under the rim.

A home that gives back

5% of each sale goes to a cause you choose.
